Literature Text

From birth; since young, be yourself,
The wise words of old men
versed in the atrocities of humanity.

The normality of life, set by society,
is just a fancy illusion of hidden reality,
a metaphorical allegory of secrets and lies.

Then there are people who see this hazy cloud,
and rise to challenge what is presented to them,
people who are the white spots on a black backdrop;
people criticised for their beliefs,
people who lost their lives in search of their truth.
The people who stayed true to themselves,
in a society taught to condemn those who refuse
to form a completed jig-saw picture. And they are shamed,
for adopting the very words of our ancestral roots.

But what for is black when there is no white,
and what is normality without individuality.
What is the definition of normal but reliant on the definition of individuality?

Is there a such a thing called "normal" when there aren't people who are "abnormal"?

And, why should we be critical of those who share different views and perspectives? The understanding cynic may say that the reason why we are socially accepted is because there are people who are not. Can darkness exist without light? Can normality exist without individuality?

The wisest would just accept everyone for who they are.
